Wine, Slow Food, Beauty, Charm and More at Italian Hillside Inn

International correspondent Jeremiah Tittle travels to Alba, Italy in the province of Piedmont to speak with Roberta Girasole, who runs Villa La Favorita, a bed and breakfast, and produces her own red and white wine with nebbiolo grapes grown on vines clinging to the steep incline above her abode.

This little known nook of the world is the home of the Slow Food movement which has for more than two decades garnered international support for eco-gastronomic, traditional methods in agriculture combating the shortcuts of fast food and fast life.  Also, this hilly Langhe region flanked by the French and Swiss Alps plays host to the 78th Annual Truffle Fair from September to November.

In the spirit of the event, Roberta takes visitors on truffle hunts with the Trifalao, dogs trained to sniff out the black and more precious “white gold”.

Visit her online before you visit her in person at www.Villalafavorita.it and enjoy a rare slice of la dolce vita.
