Conversations on The Road

We’ve been doing “On The Road” for a while, we’ve been doing conversations for some time too. But podcasts, well that’s a different story.

This is our first attempt at a podcast. We’ve been told it is not too hard to do. So far, in some ways we have found that to be true. In other ways, we found ourselves entering a whole new world.

I have been writing and speaking about journeys off the beaten path for over 20 years. Through this podcast we are embarking on a journey of another kind.

The podcast “Conversations on The Road” is a logical extension of our efforts that started back in 1986, in the form of “Weekends on the Road”. It has been known by a variety of other names as well: Eventsamerica, Hidden America, Around America, Events Online, Beyond the Interstate, to name afew.

The common thread has been an effort to unveil gems of Americana (Canadiana) that lie off the beaten path. In the spirit of Charles Kuralt we have been drawn to people places and things that are “offbeat, off the beaten path overlooked and forgotten”.

It is in this spirit that we launch this podcast. Please bear with us as this Bay Boomer learns this new mode of distribution. If past history is any guide, the learning process has been a slow but ultimately rewarding one. Please be patient as we learn through trial and error (we are doing this on a very modest budget) – we hope you will be informed and entertained, and that notwithstanding the rookie techie, that your visit to our podcast will be worth the trip.
